Yannick Nézet-Séguin

Yannick-Nézet-Séguin is an internationally renowned Canadian conductor. Passionate about music from an early age, at 13 he became the youngest student to enter the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montreal, where he studied piano with Anisia Campos, as well as chamber music, composition and conducting. He obtained first prize diplomas in piano, solfeggio, harmony and counterpoint, as well as a graduate diploma in 1997.

He quickly gained a reputation as a young prodigy by conducting his first orchestra at the age of 17. A few years later, at the age of 21, he conducted his first professional orchestra. 

Since then, Yannick Nézet-Séguin has conducted some of the world's greatest orchestras, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Rotterdam Philharmonic. 

He is currently Music and Artistic Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Music Director of the New York Metropolitan Opera and Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for his impressive work. Notably, he received 2 Grammy's in February 2023, the prestigious Diapason d’or of the year 2022, the insignia as Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic in 2021, and more.
